Oasis 9-Hole Cup Tournament (July 16th, 2020)
A new 9-Hole Cup is approaching this week and it will feature all the holes from The Oasis.
Without wasting any more time, let’s jump right into the text guides for the Redwood Cup Tournament.

The Oasis Hole #1 (Par 5)
Drive | 2nd Shot | |
---|---|---|
âŠī¸ Spin | – | 3 Back |
âŗī¸ Overadjust | 10% | 10% |
đ Ball | Quasar (Rookie), Titan (Pro/Expert) | |
đ Club(s) | Extra Mile (Rookie/Pro/Expert), Apocalypse (Pro/Expert) | Big Dawg (Rookie), Sniper 4+(Rookie/Pro/Expert) |
The drive should aim for the left side here and you should use the driver that actually gives you the most distance but don’t add any spin, you don’t want to risk getting into the rough.
If you have a headwind scenario you can adjust with overpower, but in every other case simply bounce over the rough without and additional things needed.

For the second shot you can reach the green and with a good amount of luck go for the albatross here. Use a wood club with good distance here as well and aim to get the second bounce on the green and this will give you the optimal speed for approaching the pin or a great and easy eagle if not.
The Oasis Hole #2 (Par 4)
Drive | 2nd Shot | |
---|---|---|
âŠī¸ Spin | Max Right, 3-5 Top | 2-3 Back |
âŗī¸ Overadjust | 10% | 20% |
đ Ball | Katana (Rookie), Kingmaker (Pro/Expert) | |
đ Club(s) | Quarterback (Rookie/Pro/Expert) | Big Dawg (Rookie), Sniper 4+(Rookie/Pro/Expert) |
The only reasonable way to play this Par 4 is to make the drive to the left side island with a driver that has good topspin, like the Quarterback.
Bounce it over the rough line and add some topspin (not too much) and you will get into an excellent position to approach the pin in your second shot. There’s no sloping going on here, so don’t be afraid to play on that island.
[adinserter block=”3″]
The struggle here now is to get enough backspin in to prevent coming in too hot, otherwise this is a straightforward approach on the pin.
You need to bounce over that bunker and even if you miss the pin and get over the green, you have the fairway behind it that slopes up enough to break the ball, so you will still have your birdie in sight đ
The Oasis Hole #3 (Par 3)
Drive | ||
---|---|---|
âŠī¸ Spin | Max Right, | |
âŗī¸ Overadjust | 10% | |
đ Ball | Katana (Rookie/Pro/Expert) | |
đ Club(s) | Goliath (Rookie) | Sniper (Pro/Expert) |
Many people play the rough bump here, but there’s a different approach as well that I like more because you don’t have to interfere with that palm tree. Let’s be honest, the hole-in-one is extremely unlikely here and the secure birdie is your goal.
With all sidespin you can make a bounce on the fairway and then let the ball get on the green and slope towards the pin and get a clean second shot, as you can see in the image.

The Oasis Hole #4 (Par 4)
Drive | 2nd Shot | |
---|---|---|
âŠī¸ Spin | 4-5 Top, 2 Left | 2 Back |
âŗī¸ Overadjust | 10% | 10% |
đ Ball | Titan (Rookie/Pro/Expert), Kingmaker (Pro/Expert) | |
đ Club(s) | Extra Mile (Rookie/Pro/Expert), Apocalypse (Pro/Expert) | Big Dawg (Rookie), Sniper (Pro/Expert) |
You need at least a Power III ball here to have a chance to approach the pin in your second shot.
For the drive, make the ball bounce over the rough line there and get as far as possible down that fairway, but don’t use max topspin or you can also risk getting into the rough which will blow your chances to get an eagle here completely.
[adinserter block=”5″]
The second shot isn’t easy but the only way to actually have a chance for the eagle. You need to to a rough bump uphill with the sand right next to it.
You still need a little backspin with this shot to get the right speed and aim very carefully with the ball guideline straight towards the pin. Now you really need to adjust for the wind correctly and mind that you have to adjust 10% extra for playing downhill.
The Oasis Hole #5 (Par 3)
Drive | ||
---|---|---|
âŠī¸ Spin | 3 Back; Max Left; Max Curl Left | |
âŗī¸ Overadjust | 10% | |
đ Ball | Katana (Rookie/Pro/Expert) Kingmaker (Pro/Expert) | |
đ Club(s) | Backbone, Goliath (Rookie/Pro) | Sniper (Pro/Expert) |
This is a super nasty Par 3 in the Oasis 9-Hole Cup Tournament and don’t expect any hole-in-one here!
You will need to use a ball with Sidespin III and also use all the curl to the left as well to get the ball somewhat in the direction of the pin and with 3 bars of backspin, you’ll be safe to keep it near the pin for the birdie at the end.
I’ll be honest with you, aim for the birdie and don’t do any experiments here and play it safe.

The Oasis Hole #6 (Par 5)
Drive | 2nd Shot | |
---|---|---|
âŠī¸ Spin | 4-5 Top, Max Left | |
âŗī¸ Overadjust | 10% | 20% |
đ Ball | Titan (Rookie/Pro/Expert), Kingmaker (Pro/Expert) | |
đ Club(s) | Extra Mile (Rookie/Pro/Expert) | Big Dawg (Rookie), Sniper (Pro/Expert) |
You very likely recall this hole from playing through the Tours and the tactic here is always to go the left-hand side with a double bounce.
This will get you on the last piece here without overpowering your shot and you’re in a great spot to reach for the green in your second shot.
[adinserter block=”7″]
The second shot is all about getting distance with your wood club so a club like the Big Dawg is really helpful here to get you either on the green or very close to the fringe so you can approach the pin well in your third shot.
Do add about 2-3 bars of topspin and little sidespin as needed to get your ball on the green. Important here is that you aim a little left of the pin as the green slopes down to the right and you might even be lucky to get your albatross here in the Oasis 9-Hole Cup Tournament.
The Oasis Hole #7 (Par 3)
Drive | ||
---|---|---|
âŠī¸ Spin | 4-5 Back | |
âŗī¸ Overadjust | 10% | |
đ Ball | Navigator/Quasar (Rookie), Katana/Kingmaker (Pro/Expert) | |
đ Club(s) | Guardian (Rookie/Pro/Expert) | Sniper 4+ (Rookie/Pro/Expert) |
This is not an easy hole to play and I always hated that back when I was grinding the lower tours so much in shootouts and it’s pretty much impossible to pull off consistent hole-in-ones here.
You will need a wood club with solid backspin as well as a ball with sidespin unless there’s no wind from the side. I still recommend using at least a Power I ball to not get in between clubs or have to make a double bounce shot.
Aim for the lower-left corner of the fairway spot before the green because this is less bumpy and aim somewhat towards the pin. Again, you want to make the birdie here and the hole-in-one is simple luck with that bumpy aiming spot plus having to over-adjust 10%.

The Oasis Hole #8 (Par 4)
Drive | 2nd Shot | |
---|---|---|
âŠī¸ Spin | 3-5 Top; Max Left; Curl Left | 2 Top |
âŗī¸ Overadjust | 10% | 10% |
đ Ball | Quasar (Rookie), Katana/Kingmaker (Pro/Expert) | |
đ Club(s) | Extra Mile (Rookie/Pro/Expert) Big Topper (Rookie/Pro/Expert) | Goliath (Rookie), Thorn/Grizzly (Pro/Expert) |
Important here is to get away from the trees or they will block your second shot.
You will do this with a good amount of topspin and all the sidespin to the left you have (use a ball like Quasar for that) and also add a solid amount of curl to the left as well.
If you use curl make sure that you set your landing position not too close to the rough or you might get into the rough!
[adinserter block=”9″]
For the second shot you can now approach the pin directly but you will need to use a rough bounce or you will come in too hot and get over the green.
With the rough bounce, you want to use about 2 bars of topspin so you have the right amount of speed and also aim a little bit to the side as the green slopes down towards the middle. It’s depending on luck as well to get the eagle here but the birdie is a must-have for this Par 4 in the Oasis 9-Hole Cup Tournament.
The Oasis Hole #9 (Par 5)
Drive | 2nd Shot | |
---|---|---|
âŠī¸ Spin | Max Top, 2-3 Right, Max Curl Right | |
âŗī¸ Overadjust | 10% | 10% |
đ Ball | Titan (Rookie/Pro/Expert), Kingmaker (Pro/Expert) | |
đ Club(s) | Big Topper (Rookie/Pro/Expert) | Big Dawg (Rookie), Sniper 4+ (Rookie/Pro/Expert) |
Your drive will be the make or break of this hole and I highly recommend you to try to get to the right fairway spot using a club with a ton of topspin and curl.
You should use all the topspin and aim for the middle of the rough spot as you can see in the image and use all the curl you got to land it on that fairway spot. I know, it’s a little risky but if you can do it, you will get a nice payout here in the Oasis 9-Hole Cup Tournament đ
[adinserter block=”10″]
With your second shot you can now try to get over to the right side or alternatively use the left side and reach down far the fairway. The albatross is no option here but the eagle is really well possible!
